Experience Marketing is a type of marketing where by consumers "experience" a thing or event related to a product that is being marketed. Experience marketing can take the form of physical experiences, mental experiences, emotional experiences, spiritual experiences, social experiences, and online experiences.
Experience marketing is powerful due to the emotional nature it touches in the consumer's mind. By giving the consumer positive, healthy, and uplifting experiences, the emotions related to the experience can have an effect through close association or contact with the product you are marketing.
The best type of experience marketing is one where the physical, mental, social, and emotional experiences all happen at the same time. As the Chinese Proverb relates: “Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.”
To this end, though we may be biased, Product Sampling in a social setting is the best type of experience marketing. Not only will the consumer use their five senses (hearing, sight, touch, smell and taste), they will be using these in a social setting where they can compare/contrast their experience with their social circle.
